Student Record Request

The registrar's office is the custodian of records. Please read the following to learn more about requesting student records. Click the hyperlink to be directed to the appropriate website or printable request form.

Records before the 2021 school year have been archived:  Request transcripts or verify education for graduates before 2021

 

Record release policy:

According to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), 20 U.S.C. § 1232 g provides that a school may not release personally identifiable student records, files, or personal information contained therein without the written consent of the student's parent, legal guardian, or the student if he or she is 18 years of age to any individual, agency, or organization.  A valid government-issued picture ID or Westbury High School picture ID (for currently enrolled students) is required for the release of student records. 

Request from Texas schools:

•    By TREX: Make an official record request through TREX.  Please include the enrollment date.
•    By Fax: Send request on school letterhead to 713-556-3892.
•    By mail: Send a request on school letterhead to

Request from former student or parent:

•    In person: Visit the main office with government-issued picture ID and fill out the request form during business hours. Processing time is 48 – 72 hours. 
•    In person through authorized third party (including parent/guardian of student over 18):

Visit the main office with a government-issued photo ID, complete the request form, and bring the authorization form along with the student's ID during business hours. The processing time is 48-72 hours. 

By fax: 

•    Complete the request form.
•    Attach a clear copy of government-issued picture ID

Request from currently enrolled student or parent:

•    Official and Unofficial transcript request
      In person: Request can be submitted to the primary office Monday–Friday from 7:30 to 4:30 p.m.  Transcript can be picked up with a valid Westbury Student ID                   (student pick-up) or valid government-issued picture ID (parent pick-up).   Transcript Request Form

•    Requests for students over 18 can only be released to the student or an authorized third party  ACCESS the third-party pick-up authorization form. A copy of a valid ID from the student and the authorized third party, along with an authorization form, will be required if the student who is over 18 is not present for the request/pick-up.

Verification of enrollment for Child Support, housing, social security administration, immigration, and driver's license:

•    In person: The Request can be submitted at any time during business hours   Access a printable VOE request form.

•    Requested items will be ready for pick-up in 2- 3 business days with a valid Westbury Student ID (student pick-up) or a valid government-issued picture ID (parent pick-up). 

Please note that students must be enrolled in school for at least 5 days for the VOE request to be processed. 

The registrar's office strives to fulfill all record requests as quickly as possible.  As published in the HISD secondary guideline section XIX-14, a record request will be fulfilled within ten days after receipt of a written or electronic request.  Requests will be fulfilled in the order they were received.  For faster service, please direct all record requests to the Registrar's Office.
